Non-members have options too.
We respect the privacy rights of non-members. You don't have to be a member to participate in the Plaxo community. Here are answers to a few common questions from non-members:
- What are Update Requests?
- Plaxo's service allows its members to request updated contact information from selected contacts in their address books. By responding to an Update Request, you are helping friends or business associates keep their address books up-to-date. Update Requests let you know who has your information in their address book.
- Who sends Update Requests?
- Update Requests are personalized and sent by Plaxo members who wish to keep their address books up-to-date. The Plaxo member may be a friend, business associate, or a family member. Plaxo never initiates Update Requests. Plaxo is simply the mechanism that sends and processes these e-mails at the instruction of the Plaxo member. All Update Requests are initiated by Plaxo members.
- Do I have to be a Plaxo member to respond to Update Requests?
- No. You do not have to be a Plaxo member to respond to Update Requests.
- How much information do I have to fill out on the Update Requests?
- You can include as much or as little information as you wish.
- Can I opt-out from Plaxo Update Requests?
- Yes. All Plaxo Update Requests include a link to our opt-out page. If you do not know who sent you the Update Request, you can ask for more identifying information from the Plaxo member or you can opt-out from receiving further Plaxo e-mails. As a courtesy, we also allow you to request to be voluntarily removed from the member's address book.
